Art Program
The art therapy department provides opportunities for people with disabilities to explore options and have choices related to work, social, leisure , educational experiences, as well as community and self awareness in order to maximize human potential and provide self-fulfillment through the arts. Provides non-vocational outlet for creative, or therapeutic expression.
Classes are offered for beginners to advanced artists. A variety of mediums are used. Also one-on-one work is offered for creative and therapeutic expression.
The art programs generate art works which are used in the annual Kennedy Center calendar, holiday and note cards . Several art exhibits are held throughout the year in local comunnity locations highlighting this work. The artwork is available for sale. Framed prints from the calendar may also be purchased. Frameworks is a framing business located at Garden street. Frameworks frames the artwork in the Kennedy center art shows. Frameworks also provides custom framing and laminating services for artwork, photographs, documents and special treasures at reasonable prices to the general public.
