In addition to providing direct travel training services, The Kennedy Center offers a wide array of services and products that promote greater accessibility for the use of public transportation.

Staff Trainings:
A highly qualified and experienced staff is available to train fixed-route and paratransit personnel on issues relating to accessibility and working with people with disabilities and seniors. Courses, taught by trainers are tailored to meet the needs of each training group and include “hands-on” exercises, role plays and case studies.
Courses include:
- Understanding the Needs and Capabilities of Persons with Disabilities
- Passenger Assistance Techniques
- Wheelchair Lift and Securement Devices
- Defensive Driving
Focus Groups:
Are you meeting your objectives with your transit tools?
Or, are people getting lost reading your system-wide map?
Would a different schematic design of your timetable be clearer to your riders?
To answer these questions, The Kennedy Center will form and facilitate focus groups to allow feedback and dialogue with your riding public as you decide to change, modify or develop transit tools.
Consultants:
The Kennedy Center staff can assist districts in developing a new travel training program. We are always welcoming the opportunity to bid and consult on new proposals, including establishing travel training programs in new areas.
Para-Transit Eligibility
Our qualified para-transit professionals are available to consult with your transit district to help implement eligibility requirements, public hearings, and the elibibility interviewing process.
